Biometric Verification Mandatory for Board Exams 2026

All Punjab education boards have decided to introduce digital biometric verification for students appearing in the 2026 Matric (SSC) and Intermediate (HSSC) exams.

The decision was made in a meeting held at Lahore BISE. The meeting was chaired by Task Force Committee Chairman Muzammil Mehmood. Officials from all nine Punjab boards attended the meeting.

How the System Will Work

Students will have to verify their identity through biometrics before entering the exam hall. Only registered students will be allowed to sit in the exams. This rule will apply to all theory papers at every exam center.

For practical exams, the boards will use same marking standards across Punjab. CCTV cameras will be installed in laboratories. Digital marking systems will also be used to reduce cheating. Exam supervisors will be given higher pay to ensure strict duty.

Purpose of the New Policy

The main goal is to stop cheating and fake candidates. The boards want to make exams fair, transparent, and credible.

A zero-tolerance policy has been announced. Any case of bribery, pressure, or result manipulation will lead to legal action. Detailed instructions will be shared with staff before the exams begin.

Education officials believe these steps will improve trust in the Punjab board examination system.
